Choose Theth for a village base
Build a stay around the village, its stone church and the surrounding valleys. If you have limited time, choose a guided itinerary that includes pickup and leaves enough time for the walks you want to do. Ask which stops are included in the time available.
Choose Valbona for a longer northern trip
Valbona works well when you want to stay among the mountain valleys and can allocate more time to the journey north. If you plan to combine it with Komani Lake, confirm the boat connection and onward transfer before booking accommodation.
Visiting both
The walking route over the pass and the road connection are different itineraries. Plan where you will sleep, how luggage will travel and how you will return to your starting point. Confirm trail conditions and seasonal access with a local guide or your accommodation before fixing the dates.
